Misc Professional Work
NFZ
Tech Lead (2024)
Creating awesome VR experiences of Zoos, Aquariums, and Museums!
As the Tech Lead and sole developer, I am creating our infrastructure from the ground up and ensuring the architecture supports a suite of hardware working in unison.
My development work focuses on 3 projects made from scratch:
Unity VR
ASP .NET API server
React TSX front-end UI
Supporting Hardware:
Raspberry Pi
Custom sensory equipment
Meta Quest headset
Igloo
Solo Developer (2021)
WebGL Tablet program made in Unity for viewing a large collection of machinery parts in detail.
360° VR Dome support added to pre-existing Unity project, utilizing Simtronics.
I created a WebGL program called “PEAL” designed for touch-screen tablets that runs from a simple URL link. Users can select from a list of 300+ objects, move and spin the selected machinery, zoom the camera, expand and contract models into its specific pieces, and click on the whole object or individual pieces to get contextual information.
I then worked on a pre-existing desktop Unity project of a virtual simulation site. I added support for Meta Quest VR headsets as well as Igloo’s patented 360° Dome software. I also fixed a plethora of issues with their older code to ensure the project worked flawlessly with the simulation management software Simtronics.
PayStar
.NET Backend Developer (2019)
Third-party payment processor for paying bills online, and additional client applications made in .NET such as inventory management.
Typical for a startup, I was required to "wear many hats" both in and out of the codebase, including handling customer support phone lines. Along with the payment processing codebase, I also worked on a medicinal inventory management program for a separate client. My primary role was to create and maintain the PayStar backend API and server in .NET C#.
Game Worlds
Instructor & Judge (2019-Present)
Former Student (2007-2011)
Summer Camps that teach kids about video game development.
Summer Camps hosted by industry professionals in Texas and across the USA for children ages 8-18. Kids form teams and must create a working game from scratch in their week at the camp, similar to a week-long Game Jam. Throughout this week, instructors provide lectures on development, design, programming, art, music, and more. Each team ends up presenting their game along with what they learned, and more industry professionals give feedback and encouragement.
I attended these camps when I was 13-17 and it kickstarted my passion in video game and tech development! Now I return annually as a judge and instructor for the next generation of developers.
